One of the most significant exhibitions for mid-career artists in our city is upon us – the 2012 Great Rivers Biennial at CAM. David Johnson, Asma Kazmi, and Mel Trad, all living and working in the St. Louis region, were chosen from over 120 applicants by three outside judges for the prestigious financial award and summer exhibition, curated by Kelly Shindler. Check out my REVIEW of the newly opened show on Temporary Art Review and read more about Johnson’s investigative photography, Kazmi’s interactive and relational art practice, and Trad’s provokingly titled sculptures.
Great Rivers Biennial 2012 continues at the Contemporary Art Museum through 12 August, 2012. Go to www.camstl.org for more information.
